Last night I cleaned out the pantry so I would know how close we are to needing to buy stuff for the Four Hour Body Slow-Carb Diet. I also wanted to know what we need to buy in order to finish off what we have. Turns out we have a ton of rice (one of the specific no-no's for the 4HB) and a ton of spaghetti. I told my boyfriend we would be having fried rice with chicken tonight. I'm going to buy another bag of chicken because even if we have left over chicken when we finish off our pantry that will be fine because chicken is an acceptable food on 4HB. I'm getting really excited about this diet. It boasts losing 20 lbs in the first 30 days.
I talked to my aunt on Monday about getting back in the gym since we have been slacking off. I proposed that we make two days a week mandatory gym days. We will pick a time and if you don't make it to the gym you will owe the other person a dollar. It is only a dollar but I feel like that will motivate both of us to start going again.
I did exercise at home last night but not much. All I did were "hip rotations" which basically is hula-hooping without a hula-hoop. I read that hula-hooping for just ten minutes a day for a week will drop 1'' from your waistline. After reading that, I did a bit more research and found personal accounts where individuals had started hula-hooping and toned up after a few weeks! Now, they were using weighted hula-hoops and probably didn't have a lot of fat, but that is still promising. Doing something rather than nothing is always a step in the right direction.
Hip rotations are boring though! So I try to do them while watching something or cooking (waiting on a pot to boil or something like that). I also don't do it for very long. I do it in spurts of 3-5 mins. I try to get in a total of 10-20 mins a day but yesterday I only did 3 mins. On Monday, I did a solid 10 mins and Tuesday I could feel it. I wasn't so much sore as I could just tell I had worked something. That's fine though. I love when I "feel it" the next day. It is a subtle reassurance that I'm doing something in the right direction.
